Frequently asked

Do you provide your equipment?

Yep, nine times out of ten, I bring my own gear! That means my guitar, mic, instrument stands, cables, amplifier—you name it. If you’re curious, my amp is a BOSE S1 Pro.

The only time I don’t bring my own equipment is when the event needs a bigger sound and calls for a rental. That’s why I always ask questions like venue capacity and expected attendance when I’m booked, so I can make sure my setup will be enough for the space.

If I’m touring and flying to my destination, I tend to stick to venues with in-house systems or opt for acoustic shows and house concerts. You’ll never catch me hauling my amp on a plane! But if I can drive, you can bet I’ll have my gear with me.

How much do you charge?

Ah, the age-old question! Here’s the scoop: I don’t list set prices because I like to keep things flexible and tailored to each gig. There are so many variables to consider, and I want to make sure both of us feel good about the arrangement.

  • For free shows at venues: I work off a set rate, so it’s pretty straightforward.
  • For private events, corporate gigs, and weddings: These require more details to give you an accurate quote. I’ll ask about things like location, timing, and specific requests to figure out what works best for everyone.
  • For house concerts: These are a little more personal. Sometimes it’s ticket sales, other times it’s donation-based, or we might arrange a split. It all depends on the vibe and setup.

Merch is also a big part of how I make my living, so you’ll usually see a table set up at shows. If you’re hiring me with additional musicians or the gig involves travel, those factors can affect the final price too.

Let’s chat about what you’re looking for, and I’ll make sure it’s as seamless as possible for us both!

What should I expect at your shows?

What a fair question! My performances are full of connection. Expect plenty of laughs, impressive vocality, some (over) sharing, and a dive into the light and dark shadows of being human.

One of my songs, for example, is about women’s rights and owning our bodies. It was inspired by a moment that could only be described as hilariously awkward: having to pee in a cup. Once the room is filled with chuckles, we transition into the harrowing tune.

Musically, you’ll hear my voice slip effortlessly through multiple octaves, weaving intricate melodies while grounded in storytelling and playful wordcraft. My guitar technique is its own mix of strumming, rhythm, and percussion, keeping the energy dynamic and engaging.

At the core of it, I’m an entertainer. Even if my music or voice isn’t your cup of tea, you’ll still leave with a smile (or a laugh). Think of it like this: you’ll get the musicality of a seasoned, internationally touring artist, the quips of a stand-up comedian, and the relatability of a neighbour sharing stories over coffee.

Who am I talking to when I contact you? Is this run by admin?

It’s all me! I used to have some help with the admin side of things—because, honestly, it can get overwhelming. But I quickly realized I love staying connected with everyone. I genuinely enjoy handling emails, booking, making invoices, and yes, even building this website!

I’m lucky to be in a place where I can do all of this myself, and I’ll be the person behind every word you read until the workload starts to affect my art (and makes it unenjoyable). So, please don’t hesitate to reach out—even if it’s just to say hi! I (the me behind the computer) would love to hear from you.
